Our pre-Christmas event this year will took place in this wonderful Georgian Church which is in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. Following a petition from local merchants and ship owners for a church to call their own, Holy Trinity became the first parish church in Sunderland. Possibly designed by William Etty of York, built, and consecrated in 1719. One of only two early Georgian era churches in the North East. This stunning Grade I listed building remains a celebration of the past, a hub for the community and a resource for future generations.
We were guided by the Conservation Architect, Tim Mosedale, who described this £5.1m repair and reuse project. The work was completed in 2021, and it has received half a dozen architectural and construction awards.
Doors opened at 6.30 p.m. The event finished around 9.00 p.m. The meal was optional, and our caterers provided three choices of seasonal and healthy 'Poke Bowls' and a fruit pot.
Tickets: Visit and Drinks £13.00. Additional Cost for Food £14.00
