Sophia Robson

Sophia has an MSc in historic conservation and recently qualified as an Architect Accredited in Building Conservation. She works in the premier practice Tom Ford Architects in London and has advised on many very well-known historic buildings.
We asked Sophia to select some of her favourite projects to present to us. She talked about repair and conservatiion work at Beckford's Tower in Bath, Rochester Cathedral, the South Court Gallery at the V and A, and some smaller places like Thundridge OLd Church, in all of which she had been involved, and also about visits she had made to other places in Europe, such as earthquake-hit parts of Italy, where the challenges of repair and restoration were a great deal more severe. She shed light on this little-known branch of the architectural profession and explained how satisfying and rewarding it can be.
