Cumbrian Style?

Matthew Hyde is the author of the 2010 edition of the Cumbria volume of Pevsner. In this lecture he will examine whether Cumbria has a distinctive architectural style or styles, concentrating particularly on its domestic buildings.

Matthew studied botany as an undergraduate in Bristol. The city opened his eyes to architecture and an MA in architectural history followed. He moved north and has written extensively on the architecture of the north west region.
