We were very pleased that sufficient people have signed up for the tour to make it viable, and to fill the rooms available in the hotel. This destination has the advantage of only three hours' travelling each way on the Friday and Sunday, and therefore more visiting time. We stayed at the Cally Palace Hotel, an 18th-century country mansion, just outside Gatehouse of Fleet. The house and remaining historic landscape are Listed Grade A by Historic Environment Scotland.

On the Friday and Sunday there visited places in the borders, and in the town of Dumfries. On the Saturday we travelled further west to the peninsulas around Stranraer and Port Patrick.
