SUMMER TRIP TO HEREFORDSHIRE

Cost: £450 to £475 (to be confirmed)

4 days: Friday 4th to Monday 7th July 2014

Some of the sights of our summer trip

This year we are planning a trip to Herefordshire. A new fully revised edition of Pevsner for the county has been recently published and this makes it clear that there will be plenty of interesting buildings for us to visit.

Hotel accommodation has not been easy to find but we have settled on a hotel for dinner, bed and breakfast in the market town of Leominster which will be reasonably central to the county.

We have already made contact with the following churches: Kilpeck (early carving), Shobdon (Strawberry Hill Gothick) and Brockhampton by Ross (Arts and Crafts). Eastnor Castle is also in our sights. Hereford will offer the cathedral and a very interesting town walk. If the timings allow we will split the journeys back and forth with interesting stops in the Midlands.
